At the SFScon takes delivery of the SFSaward, the annual prize which is awarded to those who have particularly distinguished in South Tyrol for the use and dissemination of Free Software. The vote is done by Linux User Group Bolzano.

Raphael Vallazza from Eppan is the Winner of the "South Tyrol Free Software Award " (SFS Award) 2008. With the Prize the Linux User Group Bolzano-Bozen-Bulsan pays homage to the 30 years old employer who particularly distinguished himself by using and disseminating Free Software in South Tyrol. Transparency and forthrightness characterize his handling of Free Software. This is especially true for the products of his company, which are based on Free Software.
